12 Days of Christmas Outfits: Day 7 {Golden}

 Another great look for the holidays is pairing a nice blouse with a pair of jeans like this. Sheer, lace, anything with a vintage detail. I loved the color of this top with little flecks of gold and the ruffle sleeve. Reminded me of presents under the tree.

12 days of Christmas Outfits: Day 6 {Emerald green}

 When I first bought this jumpsuit this is the outfit I envisioned. I've been waiting for over a year for this jacket! I finally snagged and I love it. Gorgeous color, velvet, and snazzy details. This if my favorite jumpsuit to wear all year long. It's so comfy and flattering. You can pair it with honestly anything for any holiday.

12 Days of Christmas Outfits: Day 2 Nutcracker

Today is a more casual comfortable outfit for Christmas
The sweater reminded me of candy land or the nutcracker and the four realms. Just big pastel colored lollipops and sweetness.
Super comfy and cozy perfect for lounging around Christmas Day or going out for a Christmas movie.

12 Days of Christmas outfits: Day 1 {Living Generously}

 Ever since we went debt free it became even more important to stick to a budget. We never went crazy, but we having a budget has allowed us to buy for other people. It has allowed us to have extra to be generous with other people.

Honestly not just over the holidays, all year round.

Nothing beats the feeling of giving to others. Especially when they are in need.
There are so many ways to be generous.
There are organizations like operation Christmas child, where you pack a shoebox full of gifts and toys and they send them to orphanages in other countries.
Some places have Christmas trees with little kids faces on them and you can buy Christmas gifts for kids when their parents can’t afford it.
You can also gift your time. Helping elderly people or sick people mow their lawn or do house projects.
Some churches hand out food or there are soup kitchens that feed the homeless.

People tip extremely large amounts to unsuspecting servers. Most places they live mainly off their tips. That’s a huge blessing to those in the service industry.

Do you have an abundant amount of clothes that are just taking up space? Or an extra car that you don’t really need. A teen mom might be in need of a vehicle to transport her newborn baby to drs appointments or to her new job.

We can’t pass a homeless person while driving without my son asking to give them money. It doesn’t matter to him what their sign might say. He loves to give and be kind to others.

We can definitely learn something from kids.

I hope you find it in your heart to give in some capacity during the holidays. And I hope that it sparks a fire in you to be generous all the time. It really is the best!

Ways to Cope

With last year being so crazy I've been focusing a lot more on mental health. It's always been important to me but now with the whole country taking a hit. It's even more important now more than ever. I wanted to put an emphasis on coping skills. How we handle stress and the day to day is so important.  These are some ways to cope with all that in a healthy way.

Coping Skills

Distraction: Conversation, listen to talk radio/podcasts, read, do puzzles, TV, computer games, solve a problem, make a list, learn something new, cleaning & tidying, gardening, arts and crafts.

Grounding: Use body & senses: smell fragrances, slowly taste food, notice the colors around you. Walk on the grass barefoot, squeeze clay or mud, do yoga, meditate, exercise.

Emotional Release: Yell, scream, run! Try a cold shower. Let yourself cry..and sob. Put on a funny movie and let yourself laugh. Try boxing, popping balloons, or crank up music and dance.

Self Love: Massage hands with lotion, manicure your nails, cook a special meal, clean your house (or just make your bed),  take a bubble bath or long shower, brush hair, buy a small treat.

Thought Challenge: Write down negative thoughts then list all the reasons they may not be true. Imagine someone you loved had those thoughts. What advice would you give them?

Access your higher self: Help someone else, smile at strangers, pray, volunteer, do randomly kind things for others, join a cause.

Back to {HOME} School

 We are in full swing of back to school stuff here. I really hate the unknown! Which I'm sure you can understand fully how terrible 2020 has been on my brain. I like to have all the information so I can make informed decisions. But It's really no different than being a military wife. Over a decade of being an army wife has prepared me for this pandemic!... Kinda...

 All the schools are doing things so differently. Even here all the counties are doing things differently. We were told later then everyone else that we will be doing remote learning for the first month then they will reevaluate. That answer doesn't help. Another month of the unknown. We literally have been mastering this "one day at a time" mentality.

I haven't bought any back to school clothes. I attempted to buy "supplies" after a list was posted. Then this morning got a new list and didn't need a good chunk of the supplies. I know its frustrating for everyone across the country. It just feels so aggravating. So I think I'm just going to not do anything until the last minute. The perfect time to showcase my procrastination skills. Another thing I am really good at!

In the mean time while I get my end of summer and fall/winter act together enjoy the last few summer looks in the next few days/weeks!
