{Fashion Friday} Recycled

Hey! It's Friday! We got 16 more days til the hubs gets home! AND I think Summer has finally hit! I've brought all the fans up from the basement. And of course it does absolutely nothing. I can handle the heat {most of the time} but this mugginess/humidity is so aggravating! It's only the beginning too! Hopefully this summer will be remedied with some A/C window units. They are very popular here on the east coast. Personally I think they are really ugly. But If we want to survive the summer they are a must!

Last year was really miserable. That's what happens when you are new to the east coast and have no idea what you are doing or what to expect. But I'm ready for you this time Summer!!

This outfit is a classic case of recycled trends. I bought this skirt like ten years ago, {maybe nine} I couldn't bear the thought of getting rid of it! So I kept it and it can totally work now. It's an asymmetrical, banded top skirt that I think I got at Sears back in the day. I'm a sucker for stripes, always have been. I love the bold black and white, I don't know why. It's like candy for my eyes! I paired it with this bold red tube top and neutral brown belt and boots.

What's some of your favorite recycled trends?

{Weekend Recap} Memorial Day

We started the long holiday weekend with miserable rain and dark gray skies. By the time Monday came around we had some serious cabin fever. Luckily we got invited to a BBQ

Riley was a big hit. She's always a big hit. She is such an easy kid, makes friends with everyone. She's pretty fearless {most of the time}
By the time we walked down to the "Beach" she was a little disappointed that there was no sand to dig in. East Coast beaches are just not the same as California beaches. So we just played games on the grass until the tied went down and we could walk on some of the wet sand.
Some of the guys decided it would be fun to jump in the water, so they did. It was freezing! Boys.....haha

It was an awesome Memorial Day with good friends, good food and lots of fun!
But let's not forget what Memorial Day is all about.
Not only is about the Soldiers in the Armed Forces who fight for our freedom every day but it's also about the loved ones lost whether they are in the military or not. Memorial Day is a day for remembering. So, let's remember the ones we have lost too everyday!

{Fashion Friday} ...and the best 80's movies

                It's been such a long break from Fashion Friday I know. But it's finally back yay! I literally had nothing prepared when Jenny came over to take these photos. I literally threw this together in a few minutes. I think it's funny how that's the only thing I'm somewhat good at "on the spot". Other things not so much. Sometimes by brain doesn't even work on the spot and I start talking like a weirdo. True story!

So I recently watched St. Elmo's Fire for the first time. I thought why not since the hubby is gone. I should try and add to my knowledge of movies. I really wasn't impressed actually. It definitely ain't no Breakfast Club that's for sure! So I decided to put together a list of the best 80's movies {in my opinion} for you to add to your Bucket List of movies!

You haven't lived unless you've seen every one of these moves at least ten times each! :)

Happy Friday Everyone!

{Life/Style}

I know it's been quite awhile since I've posted some fashion posts. I have a ton coming up soon. So in the meantime. I thought I would share some style from my instagram. Make sure to follow me @meadowsandreeds ! It's been quite busy here as of late. We are at 3 1/2 weeks down with no hubby. Got about 4 more weeks to go. It's been a rough road so far. Riley is having the worst time. She keeps going back and forth with eating and then not wanting to eat. Having accidents at night to being totally fine. I didn't think it would be this hard. Can 4 years old's be depressed? She will have mornings where she just cries for him over and over. :( It breaks my heart and makes me nervous about the future. This is not going to be the end of him leaving us for long periods of time. I'm worried about how she will handle it. Luckily, she still has school, awanas, and playdates to keep her somewhat distracted during the week. I hope these last few weeks go by really fast. So we can be a family again.

{Mommy and Me}

I just got my photos back from my little Mother's day session. I've always wanted some photos with just me and my baby girl. She's my mini me and we are two peas in a pod. She makes me laugh, she makes me smile. We have a lot of fun together. We are constantly having dance parties, snuggling on the couch having movie nights. What she loves to do most is take pictures with me though. Or more like having me take pictures of her. She's such a little model and loves to pose for the camera. She's the sweetest too! At four years old she's already so thoughtful and cares about other people and gets along with everybody! She's always got the biggest smile on her face. She's such a precious gift to me and her daddy. I could never live without her smiling face.
