Fashion Friday {Bring on the rain}

So I've almost completely broken up with Facebook. My private account that is. I've been having a lot of soul searching on social media. Also hearing a lot of peoples opinions on how no one can relate to each other anymore. No one knows how to talk to anyone anymore because they are constantly texting, messaging etc. I also don't like and I never liked how people will check my facebook before picking up a phone to call me or to visit me. So I am doing my part. I'm boycotting! I'm taking a stand. Social media will have its purpose for me. But if you want to know me for real you have to pick up a phone. You got to pay a visit! I hope this idea spreads but we live in strange times and I fear it's going to get worse.

What is your opinion on social media and human life?

Fashion Friday {Meadows and Reeds}

It's June ! You guys! It's June already we are almost halfway done with 2018 already. Why is it when we get older time just flies by faster and faster? Time and age is a funny thing. I recently just did this bible study on the first 11 chapters of Genesis! It totally blew my mind. I grew up in church and there were things in there I didn't even know! I probably never paid attention or no one ever taught on it. It was a week by week study by Jen Wilkin called God of Creation. You can jump on this study in a couple weeks and I highly recommend it. Follow this link God of Creation Study
I learned that people used to live for over thousands of years. Can you believe that? We get all excited for people living to be 100 years old. I also learned how long it actually took Noah to build the ark. The purpose of time and age meant something. That got me really fired up. That God has this purpose for those kinds of things. It's all meticulously planned it and we have no idea. All we can see is what's right in front of us. Or where we are going for summer vacation. God knows that already! Each week I was like {MIND BLOWN}.
I hope you are having a great week. Here's to a great weekend!

Fashion Friday { Summer Rain}

 It's Friday and I survived another week of summer! Hallelujah! We went to the library to get on the summer reading program. We did the dollar movie theater, bible study, YMCA, swimming, and the slip n slide! We've been fighting the summer rain storms almost all week. So that's been a challenge. But I have confidence that we can make it through! How has your summer been? What summer activities have you been doing to entertain your kids?

Fashion Friday {Summer is Here}

I know some of you have a couple more weeks. But we are officially on summer vacation. Our first attempt at the pool though lasted only 45 minutes because of rain and thunder. Summer in the south right? I'm putting together a list of summer ideas to entertain us especially on those rainy days. Hopefully I will get that blogged soon.
In the meantime what are your favorite things to do in the summer?

Fashion Friday {Fall In line}

Are you a Christina Aguilera fan? I've been from the beginning. I totally felt a connection with her music when I was in 6th grade. I thought to myself "Yes! Finally a girl who sings like I like to sing!" The rest is history! Now she has a new album coming out and I'm always excited about that. While I wasn't super excited about the first single. The latest "Fall in line" hits the nail on the head ya know what I mean. Talking about body image for young girls and how we were made for so much more than something to look at. I have no idea why that wasn't the first single because it is on fire! Now it's climbing the itunes top song list and I feel validated. Not sure who dropped the ball on that one. Especially nowadays with woman empowerment left and right. It boggles the mind!
Anyway onto this weeks look.
The weather has got me feeling like fall/spring/summer all in one day and at the same time so when that happens you dress accordingly. The result is this.

P.S Yes that would be a Bluebird cafe tank from none other than my fave place Nashville. I still have yet to go there. One of these days. Also, I'm sad because Nashville the show is ending and I will miss it so much!
Happy Friday !

Fashion Friday {Let's get real}

Ok, I have to confess something to you. I'm not really a shopaholic. I can actually go months without looking online at a store. I can avoid certain aisles in stores. I can actually go into Target and come out with nothing. I'm not always looking for the great deal. Usually how it happens is I get bored of what I have in my closet. Not because I love spending money. Because putting outfits together is art for me. I know I've probably said it before but it's true. Fashion is a creative outlet to me. I love pairing patterns, textures, styles. So when I feel I need a refresher I will venture out. Like getting new brushes or paint for an artist. Or new pencils and paper for a writer. So I'm not going to be posting about sales going on. I might share the awesome deals I got. Because who doesn't love a good deal. Basically! I'm not your typical fashion blogger. I like to use what I got. I like to be frugal. I have a shopping rule now. I can only buy it if I can make 3 or more outfits out of that one item. It's served me well. You have probably seen these jeans a million times over in my posts. You've definitely seen these shoes. Because I am NOT a shoe addict! This bodysuit was clearance at Forever 21 and these lace kimono was maybe $10 at Ross! If that's your type of shopping then follow along with me. Let's be creative and frugal together!

Happy Friday!

Fashion Friday

I've been collecting a lot of books that I want to get through this summer. Are you into summer reading programs? I'm even contemplating suspending my cable for the summer. Save money and get a much needed break from the screen. Not sure how well that will go over because I am a tv junkie. But I love books!
So far on my list:

Outlander: Drums of Autumn
The Shack
Harry Potter and the cursed child
Lioness arising
Without Rival

Anymore suggestions to my list? I'm a pretty fast reader!
