CopyCat Fashion

 While I didn't copy this outfit exactly. It was inspiration to work with what I already had in my closet. Took a different spin on it. I love that it was warm enough outside in the middle of winter to wear these little oxford flats. I never seem to wear them enough. The floral kimono's got me dreaming about spring too.

Conversations with an 8 year old

Mommy: What's that smell?

Uncle: It's outside! Oh that's horrible!

Riley: It's the smell of nature so deal with it.

 Riley: Wouldn't it be cool to jump on top of a car? I think it would.

Mommy: While it's moving?

Riley: No....

Mommy: Just sitting still then?

{Driving up to Starbucks drive thru and sees long line}

Riley: Are you sure you want to do this ?

{Getting nails done and Grandma decides to get gel and it takes longer.}

Riley: Why does Grandma have to be so fancy and take a long time?

Riley: Did you hear the precious sound of thunder? The rain is precious.

{Little brother jumping from coffee table to couch. Riley catches him mid-jump}

Riley: I caught him! I popped the weasel!

Fashion Inspiration with StyleWe

 Happy Monday everyone! I am hitting it hard this week with getting organized. Getting all my outfits planned for upcoming posts. Working on lots of fun projects etc. But first let's shop! I have teamed up with StyleWe to show you my favorite pieces from their site. Stylewe.com is an online store that sells designer clothing for women throughout the U.S.  There are so many different styles for every woman.  It's never been so easy to find unique pieces to add to your closet.

I love this gray floral pleated dress. It's so classic it reminds me of The Great Gatsby. Perfect for a night out. Even for Valentines Day coming up. It's got a very romantic feel to it.

This sweater is so gorgeous. I love the neutral colors. I love the fringe. It's a perfect sweater not just for Fall but all year round.

This lace top is so beautiful and timeless. I love lace for that very reason. It will never go out of style.

I love this look it's got a vintage feel while still being current and on trend.

What's your favorite look?

 Don't forget to follow them on instagram

Copycat Tuesday {Mommy Daughter Fashion}

The older she gets the harder it is to take pictures with her. You know when they get to that age where they would rather make goofy faces then a smile. Well we've officially gotten there. Luckily she said she would do this with me without a fight. I fear she gets it from her dad. Caleb was hamming it up he thought it was his photo shoot. Maybe I need to swap out kids.

Red Carpet Ready

I know the Golden Globes were a week ago. But the timing couldn't be more perfect. One of the perks in my opinion of being an Army wife is that we have military balls. I love dressing up and going out with my man in uniform for a nice dinner and dancing. {Even if he doesn't dance.} Here are my top faves from the Golden Globes.

1. Drew Barrymore

I love her effortless style on the red carpet. This dress has so much motion without being too gaudy.

2. Mandy Moore

I love how polished and classy she looked. The navy color is so perfect for her hair color and complexion. Plus I love "This is us

3. Busy Phillips

I LOVE, LOVE this dress! I cut, the silhouette, the embroidered flowers. This dress is just perfection!

 4. Anna Kendrick

I love this dress. I love the gathered pleated look. It's very similar to my dress. I love how it's fitted in just the right places. It's so classy

 5. Emma Stone

I love Emma Stone. she really just can't go wrong. I love her choice seeing how she is nominated for "La La Land". This dress just screams "chase your dreams". Love the pale pink and silver again without being gaudy and ridiculous.

 6. Caitriona Balfe

While I'm not a huge fan of her dress. You can't argue with how classy she looks. She's so elegant and beautiful. The color, the makeup and the pulled back hair. She has her own style but she owns it and I love that. Plus I am a huge "Outlander" fan and she should've won!

This Friday is the ball and I already have my dress.I'm working on the shoes and jewelry. But I could use some help in the hair department. I can't decide between a few different looks. Comment with your choice below.

Fashion Friday

I'm loving the velvet trend right now. I definitely rocked some velvet back in the day. It's always funny how trends get recycled over and over again. It makes it hard to ever get rid of anything because it might come back into style. I chose a neutral color so it could be paired with other bold items like this cardigan. I love mixing the textures together it makes the outfit that much more intriguing. Pair that with a different color bootie and you got magic. What's your favorite trend right now?

Conversations with an 8 year old

It's the beginning of a new chapter. We have now reached a new age and the things that come out of her mouth are getting funnier and funnier.

{Talking about her day at school}
Riley: Steve won so we had to do medium and it was hard....it was my nightmare!
Mommy: Who's Steve? What are you talking about?
Riley: Minecraft

Mommy: Chocolate makes me happy!
Riley: Chocolate makes me crazy

{Hanging out with her uncle}

Uncle: Do you want to take the car over there or walk?
Riley: Walk! Walking is better than driving.

{Playing a new family game}

"Which school subject will be the most important in your life?"

Riley: Gym

"If there were no kids your age to play with would you rather hang out with the older or younger kids?"

Riley: Younger so I can be the boss.

"If you could go to the olympics in a sport which would you choose?"

Riley: Thumb wrestling

"What do children know more about than adults?"

Riley: Adverbs
