Fashion Friday: We survived

This week was a crazy couple of weeks. My husband came home from deployment so we've been just stepping back from the world to be a family again. Readjusting to family life again is such a weird thing after being apart for so long. You get used to living that single parent life. You develop a new routine. Only to have to jump back into how it was before they were gone. You can check out my deployment survival checklist here.
I have to be honest it worked for me only during the school year. The summer was hard doing it on my own with the kids. My little man is a bit wild and I definitely needed another set of hands and eyes for both kids. Good news though we did in fact survive this deployment.

Hope everyone has a great weekend. Happy Friday!

Fashion Friday {Mental Health Day}

 This week we had international mental health day. I wanted to just share what I posted on the day.

"I wasn’t going to post anything until a conversation with my brother proved that people really believe in perception. If you don’t let them in they tend to think your life is perfect. I pride myself on being real, genuine and honest. All my life I have dealt with depression and later on anxiety. I have had many hardships {death of my son, getting cancer, deployments, getting teased/bullied} For a time I needed medication for anxiety but for ME it only made it worse. There’s nothing wrong with asking for help. There’s nothing wrong with talking to someone. Let’s get rid of this stigma about mental health and have a conversation about it. You are not alone! "
Ps 9:9-10: The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. Those who know your name will trust in you, for you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you (NIV).

Fashion Friday {Glass Houses}

It's crazy how it's been a week since I was in California recording the rest of my EP! Well, not recording I should say. I actually got sick and wasn't able to finish the songs. Now I have to get better and prepare another trip to get out there to finish as soon as possible. I am definitely disappointed! I'm working on it. How do you guys deal with disappointment?

Don't get me wrong things definitely turned around for me. This week my debut single was released out into the world! The response has been overwhelmingly positive! I'm so excited for what's to come. I'm nervous for sure but still really excited!
You can see my music video here.
