Fashion Friday

Let's speak on this choker top trend for a minute. I think it's a great! On the days you don't want to worry about picking out a necklace. You have one built in to your top. One of the most easiest trends to get on board with. This top from Tobi.com is thin and lightweight so great for the humid summers that are fast approaching for me. It's already 90 degrees outside today..that's 8 degrees short of a boy band. It's hot! I found this vest back in Hawaii at Ross I'm glad it's getting good use out of it now.
Happy Friday ya'll  <----- {see that's how you know I live in the south now :)  }

Backyard Makeover

Since we've moved into this house last summer I haven't had a chance to set up our backyard. But I knew I wanted to start brand new with everything. After two moves in two years our stuff wasn't taken care of properly. Cushions are faded, furniture is wobbly and rusty. As you can see we have the room it just needs a bit of a facelift.

It's time for something new and fresh. Something that represents the rest of the style and decor of the house. My style is very eclectic! It's like a combination between vintage, modern, boho and chic. If that's even possible. I don't want something that looks like a museum just an updated version. With a little flea market style thrown in. I may be all over the place but my chaos works at the end of the day. Everything ties in nicely.

I really wanted to have an oasis in the backyard. I like reading outside while the kids play. I like having BBQ's and roasting marshmallows for s'mores. But let's be realistic I have kids who constantly leave my backyard in shambles. Toys are left out and getting rained on, or broken. It's just a hot mess all the time. I needed some ideas that suited my style but also my life as a mom. Aside from the broken toys I knew the kids and all their little friends would attack anything of mine with their dirty, sticky little hands.
So I started searching for awesome ideas to transform my backyard for this summer.
A few things I've had my eye on for awhile are outdoor string lights. I think they always set the mood for outdoor entertaining. Obviously a new conversation set as well. What we have just takes up too much room. I need something clean, and put together.
What ideas do you like for our backyard makeover?

I've included Wayfair's list of decorating trends for this year. I'm especially loving the sunbrella fabric every mom wants to hear those words "easy to clean". Everything on this list has something for everyone. It's a great jumping off point to get started before summer hits so you can enjoy it in a nice decorated space!

Top 5 Outdoor Decorating Trends for 2017 from Wayfair
1. Indoor Comforts Outside
Conversation sets can look and feel just like your indoor sectional, and Sunbrella fabric makes them extremely easy to clean. Position pieces around an outdoor coffee table or even a fire pit for the ultimate backyard living room.
2. Paris-Inspired Dining
If you’re tight on outdoor space, bistro sets can add a huge punch of personality in a small package. Easily transform your patio or deck into a Parisian sidewalk café.
3. Café Touches
To really nail that café look, add outdoor string lights above your eating space. Solar options mean lights can go absolutely anywhere with no worry of extensions cords and plugs.
4. Outdoor Bars
Take the bar outside with a serving cart made to withstand the outdoors. Load it up with drink choices, mixers, maybe even some fresh fruit—and of course, glasses. Let your guests help themselves!
5. Wild About Wicker
Timeless wicker remains the top material choice for outdoor furniture. It’s now available in more colors that ever, and accompanying cushions give you limitless décor options.

Fashion Friday

I love this dress from Tobi.com ! I love the choker aspect of it. I love the envelope skirt. The material is a ribbed sweater type material but it's very lightweight. Really great for all seasons. Which you know I love versatility in my clothes. I paired it with my brown leather jacket. Which is actually thrifted from Plato's closet. Literally everything looks good with a leather jacket. It gives every outfit a little bit of edge. I hope you guys are gearing up for an awesome weekend. My hubby is finally home and I've been pretty obsessed with family/alone time. It's been a whole month but it feels like it's been a year deployment. I haven't been this stressed, lonely, overwhelmed in a long time. I'm so happy to have my partner in crime back home. I know all your military wives can relate. Until the next time he leaves again. The only thing that kept me sane was nightly bubble baths with some kind of dessert. Not going to lie! What's your favorite thing to keep you sane?

Fashion Friday

It's Friday. One more week down closer to seeing my man again! These month long trainings have never been so hard. Probably because we weren't able to talk for the last two weeks. Or cause I have a crazy toddler who is running me into the ground. Can anyone relate?! I hope everyone has a great Easter Weekend. Here's an Easter/Spring look for you today. I love this romper dress from Forever21. It's got just the right amount of drama. While still being fun, flirty, and simple. Paired it with these amazing shoes from Styles For less

Fashion Friday Festival Fashion

I pretty much love festival fashion all the time. Not just once a year for Coachella but year round. Maybe I'm a hippy at heart. I LOVE this romper from Forever 21. Love the color,  love the lace at the shoulders. Just a fun easy look for the spring/summer. I paired it with my belt, floppy hat, and lace up booties for a more rocker vibe.

CopyCat Tuesday

One of my favorite styles right now is the babydoll top. Or peplum depends on the brand I guess. It's one of the most comfortable tops I've ever worn. It's flattering probably on every body type including maternity. I wish I had some when I was pregnant. I probably would've lived in them all the time. I added the suede moto jacket for some texture and contrast. Love the neutral colors together. It's very earthy.
