{Random} Snow boots and no makeup

Jacket: Hollister, Tunic: Wetseal, Scarf: Target, Boots: Sears, belt:Tillys
You ever notice how it's really hard to find cute snow boots? I got away with living in Colorado for 2 1/2 years without any. I survived on a pair of ugg boots and a pair of bear paw boots. Well sadly they are no more. They were at least more than 5 years old and needed to be retired. It was either the trash or wet/cold feet for a few more winters. As sad as I was to throw them in the trash Mr. Handsome took me to the mall so we could find some boots. Nothing much was at Target, so big thanks to Sears who had some all weather boots. So I found these quilted, buckle fur trim rain type boots. That did the trick. Cute enough to go with all outfits and kept my feet dry. Mission accomplished.

This outfit was inspired by a pinterest find. I haven't worn this tunic since I was pregnant I believe. I wanted to challenge myself and wear at least one item from my "don't wear anymore" pile. It was a lazy kind of day so I put barely any makeup on, didn't do my hair and took Riley to school like that. Sometimes a moms gotta do what a moms gotta do!

{Music Monday}

This is what I was up to this weekend. Had a nice get together with Mike and his wife for lunch at their place. We were finally able to get some music worked out. It's like no time has passed! Five years doesn't really like five years! We started working on this little clip of guitar I did. I can't play but I tried and was surprised at what came out. He worked it out on guitar then on the keyboards, as I worked out the melody. I'm always writing down lyrics in my phone on the go. So I looked through it and pulled up a song I wrote a couple months ago.
Working with Mike is so easy, relaxed and stress free. No fear of messing up or being judged. Just a peaceful, fun time working on some awesome music. It's not entirely done yet. We need to make adjustments, add a verse here and there. Then it will be done. Not bad for a 1 1/2 hours worth of work. I'm very happy we got to work together again!

In case you don't remember here's a link of the last time we worked together

{Personal} Babies..Babies...Babies

Have you noticed that everyone.. I mean EVERYONE is pregnant, having a baby, or has an infant.
I don't know if it's just one of those things where when you think about it you notice it more or what. It made me think of what it was like to be pregnant again, and have a little baby around. I haven't been pregnant since 2008! That's almost a full five years!!

I went searching for my old pictures and found these awesome pictures from both my pregnancies!

{Fashion Friday}

So it's almost my birthday! I'm excited for my plans but not so much about getting another year older. To some I know it's not that old. Or you are only as old as you feel. Is that a good thing when I still feel like I'm 16 or 17. The last ten years are so have gone by like a blur. Like an out of control blur! I graduated high school, got married, had two kids, lived in 3-4 different states! I wish I could freeze time sometimes.. Maybe If I'm lucky I will still look ten years younger than I will be. {DIY} tutu dress

Every year I do Miss Riley's birthday pictures! It's our little tradition. Once I eyed this little chair at my voice lessons the wheels in my head started turning. I looked around everywhere for a big poofy dress for her to wear for the pictures. Everything was kind of expensive on etsy and such and shipping was not in my window of time. Then I thought "hey I can make this!" So I searched for ideas online and finally found a decent tutorial. Took some creative liberties and Voila!! Not too bad for my first attempt. P.S Tulle is very annoying.

{Style Inspiration}...The Saturdays

Vanessa White, Mollie King, Una Healy, Frankie Sandford, Rochelle Humes

I've been waiting for "The Saturdays" to come to America for a long time. Not necessarily for their music. {That's kind of hard to find, at least last time I looked}. But I am in looooove with their style. I found Frankie Sandford a couple years ago while browsing the internet and have been following ever since. Now they finally have a reality show on E! right after the Kardashians. They remind me a lot of the spice girls {who are so dear to my heart :) }. As well as bringing back my favorite kind of reality show. Where it's actually about something! I used to love Making the band with Danity Kane. I loved watching what it's like in the entertainment business. All the hard work that it entails, music videos, dance. That's what I miss. Reality shows have just blown up since and believe me not everyone should have a reality show!

Plus two of the members are married! One has a baby and another one is pregnant now. That's pretty awesome for us young "career moms" who still want to achieve our dreams. But wonder if it's possible when we have kids and are married and have family responsibilities. You see "Una" bringing her little baby around everywhere during all their work things. While looking pretty stylish as well. It's a nice breath of fresh air. These girls are relatable and fun. Definitely something to watch.

{Fashion Friday}...Pretty little liar

I was inspired. Well I am always inspired by "Pretty Little Liars" style! They always have the cutest outfits, accessories. That show is just ridiculously addicting. Since it's freezing here I had to add some leggings!

Pretty bummed I don't have a striped blazer. Hopefully soon. It's adorable! This show is always fun for some new inspiration!

{5 ways to survive a bad day}

Many of us have it. It's ok to admit when you're just having that horrible, bad day. Where all you want to do is scream or have a little tantrum right there in the middle of the room.
To be honest I think I'm having more and more of these unfortunate days lately. Probably stress, maybe I have too much on my plate.

You know the days where you get woken up too early. End up being late, can't find your keys {even though they were just in your hands}. Hurry to get a snack in the kids backpack only to have it spill all over the floor. Then you go to get plastic bag and the whole drawer pulls out dumping everything all over the floor. Definitely scream worthy.

So I have compiled a list of things that will help you survive a bad day {at least according to me}

{1} Marathon either Friends or New girl. That seems to always do the trick for me.

{2} Chocolate shake and french fries!! Preferably from my favorite place Bakers {which is nowhere near me of course}

{3} Silly songs that make me smile like "Thrift Shop" by Macklemore and Ryan Lewis.

{4} Dancing like a crazy person when no one is around. It's a good stress relieve, maybe even with a shot of Dr. Pepper.

{5} Yes it might be bad for you but sometimes you just need to cheat a little. Sparkling Cider and cookie dough. Yes cookie dough.. it's just so addicting!!

{Confessions of a fashionista}....shhhhh

{Vest: Wetseal, Top: Wetseal, Leggings: Wetseal, Pumps: JcPenney}
I just couldn't wait any longer to post this outfit because it is so outrageously fun! Riley and I finally have matching faux fur vests! This fact made her so excited! She wanted to wear her vest too. I also am loving my new prime lens. I mean the sharpness is just fantastic!

So these leggings... Yeah I know what you're thinking.."Wow, ok Beetlejuice !" or maybe "Just get out of jail?" I thought the same about the beetlejuice thing to btw. But you know what I love stripes! I love black and white and for crying out loud I love leggings! With all my favorite things in one item of clothing I couldn't resist! I quickly made this outfit in my head as I was buying it online. I knew it would put a huge smile on my face even if I got weird likes from the hubs. {Actually I don't think he thought it was that weird.} I really hope it's not that I can't shock him anymore. That's my favorite part.

I have a few confessions to make! Ones that may totally shock you.

1) I don't wear lipstick. In fact I think I might really hate anything on my lips other than chapstick. I'm committing a major girl crime here I know. I just think I look weird with any kind of color besides a nude or some light pink. Even then it's lipgloss. Now I won't completely swear it off. But until that day comes its Chapstick or nothing baby!

2) This might be even worse then the first! I think I have come to the realization that I just can't do heels! As much as it pains me to say it, and as much pain as it is for me to wear them. I just don't think my closet will ever be filled with the likes of stilettos, platforms, and possibly even wedges! If anyone has any suggestions to making this better for me I would gladly appreciate it!

Ok that's enough confessing for today. I'm sorry if I let any of you down.

{Music Monday}.... dreams do come true

I wanted to take a moment to introduce you properly to a new addition to our family.
After months and months {well maybe just like 3 months} of trying to make this dream a reality. The day finally arrived!
My wonderfully gorgeous vintage upright piano is finally inside the house instead of in the garage! For a little back-story you can check out previous posts here and here. It did not take long before Riley attacked it! She's been creating her masterpieces on it almost everyday! She's in love with it! Evan has even gotten in it. I showed him a few keys that I use when I mess around and that's all he will play! {well that and chopsticks} He even said that he can learn to play before I do! Everything is a competition with that boy! He makes me laugh! Maybe I will take him up on it just to get him to learn an actual instrument. I am a sucker for musicians lol. The space isn't finished being decorated. I'm going to make it look all kinds of pretty! Here are a few photos of it so you can see how humongous this girl is!

There was a few scuffs from the move and I still need to figure out the best way to get the letters off the keys and make them all sparkly clean :)
