{Sweet Tooth}

There are two blogs I follow on for some awesome recipes. One is mainly dinners and trying to stay healthy. The other one is to satisfy my serious sweet tooth! So be warned! You will be drooling after you read this post!

Golden Oreo Cake Batter Blondies

When I made these I was trying to please the husband because he has an obsession with cake batter anything. We had friends over so I figured I would try this dessert. While I made them I finally realized {Total "Blonde" Moment...No pun intended} I never knew why they were called blondies. Brownies are brown! Blondies are blonde! A lightbulb lit up in front of me and I felt so stupid. But we had a good laugh about it! That's me! Baking you tasty treats and providing the comedic relief.. :)
These are soooo sweet/rich so one is plenty with vanilla ice cream.

I found these bad boys on Pinterest. But my family has been making them for years!
They are called  Resurrection Rolls on a different site. We always called them snails. I like the idea of it representing something special though and you can do it with kids. They are super easy! Perfect for Easter coming up!
Now for some SkinnyTaste recipes. Low Fat desserts that taste awesome are a great find. I seriously swear by this site. Everything tastes good. One of our favorite desserts is this pie.
Takes a few minutes to make then its in the fridge for a couple hours and that's it!
Since it's low-fat the ingredients were cut in half. So it doesn't fill the entire pie crust. Just an FYI! Still tastes awesome though!

I made these back in May for my nephews birthday. Everyone loved them! It's kinda hard to stop at just one!

{Sweaters and leggings} Mommy Daughter Fashion

We had ourselves a cozy weekend. More snow meant some comfy sweaters and some leggings! So we could just lounge around the house and just be a bit lazy. I tell her I'm going to take pictures of her cute outfit and she automatically starts posing for me. I think she was just so excited to just be out of the house. Even if it was just right outside the front door! We probably have a little cabin fever! So we turned into a cute little mommy daughter shoot! I may have found my new partner in crime.

So glad we could get back to our routine this week.

Sweater: Ruum, Leggings: Target, Shoes: Target
Yep! That's us!

{DIY} Decorative/Covered bulletin boards

I took a break from Fashion Friday to show you guys all the projects I've been doing around the house. Don't worry I will catch up though, maybe even a whole week of just fashion.

I had this huge bulky type bulletin board that my mom gave me when she was cleaning out storage. I took it and used it for awhile in my office. It's just so huge and kind of ugly like most bulletin boards are right?
I used momentarily to put my necklaces up in my closet. After awhile that didn't work either. It's such a short closet. I had to fight through my clothes just to get to the board and it kept falling over. So I had to think of a new plan.
I was just going to sell it ......

But then I found an awesome easy idea on Pinterest. Pinterest of course is still a God-send. It makes it a one-stop place of all ideas and inspiration so you don't have to spend hours on the internet searching for ideas. Instead you just spend hours on pinterest :)

Why not cover your ugly bulletin board with decorative fabric to match your office theme or the rest of your home decor. It was such an easy and inexpensive project. {well easier if I had a better staple gun}. Here's where you can find more detailed instructions.

What you'll need:

Fabric: {Depending on the size board.  I just got 1 yd of quilting fabric and that was just enough @ $5.99
Staple Gun/Staples: {Husband got the Ace brand for home projects. It would've been better with a heavy duty one to get through the wood frame} $16-$20 with the staples }
Bulletin board: {obviously, one with a frame and whatever size}
Upholstery tacks: {whatever style you want. I got black smooth ones @ $1.99 for 24 get plenty of these to get around the whole board}
Hanging Brackets

Measure 3" of fabric on each side

Staple along each side {since I had a bad staple gun I used a hammer too} Leave the corners open

Fold corners in like a present and then staple them too

Finished covered bulletin board

Place the tacks 1" apart or however you like. Keep them evenly placed along the edge of board.
Again make sure you get plenty of the tacks to go all the way around your board.

There you go! Done in just a few steps. My office is slowly coming together!
Happy Friday Everyone

{We felt a little musically inclined....}

While my sis Emily was visiting we had a chance to mess around and do some music together. Just for the fun of it. So we took a video of it to share with all of you.

{A Day in {THE} City}

Mimi {Aunt Emily} came to visit us! Which made Riley super excited. Since it was her first time on this side of the country {besides Virginia} we knew we had to cram a lot in the four days she was here. Since I had planned New York for my birthday and it was kind of a bust with a blizzard and all and my parents couldn't come. We had to shorten it to just one day. Luckily it was a somewhat warm/sunny day and it worked out well. We got up {kinda} early and headed out on the road for the 3 1/2 hour drive. Got there around lunch time and navigated parking and found a cute little place to eat lunch at {Ben Ash Deli}. Then we went down to Carnegie Hall since we are huge music lovers here! Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra

Then we went down to Carnegie Hall since we are huge music lovers here! The Lobby was gorgeous. The architecture with its intricate designs was just beautiful. We lucked out and there wasn't supposed to be anyone inside but the  Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra was rehearsing for their performance that night! I couldn't take pictures inside the hall. But the acoustics are absolutely amazing in there. The thousands of red velvet seats were mesmerizing. Riley was enthralled with the music. She especially loved the violin and the flute.

Times Square

We tried to go to Serendipity. Ya know the little cafe place from the movie. Did you know that they have the most expensive ice cream sundae made of gold. It's like $1,000. That's no joke! We walked all the way over there and they had a 45-minute wait. That's not doable with a 4-year old. So we walked back down the street and ended up stopping in Dylan's candy bar. It was so cute. Candy store on the first floor and cafe on the second floor. They had booths shaped like cupcakes. The tables had candy inside them. It was so bright and colorful that Riley was in love. We had their peanut butter chocolate brownie, and chocolate peanut butter explosion hot chocolate. We had a serious sugar coma after that by the way.

On the way out we walked by the famous love statue and grabbed some pictures. People stand in line to get pictures there it's always busy.

Overall an awesome day despite the traffic on the way home that turned our 3 hours into 5 hours. But you just can't beat being able to drive into New York whenever you want! The Reed's LOVE NEW YORK!
