Fashion Friday {Summer Siesta}

This has been a really nice week of unplugging! I took a nice little siesta with the family just enjoying summer a bit. The kids weren't fighting or whining. We may have proved the theory of screen time turning your kids into like crazy monsters. They played so nice together when we took them outside and gave them something to do. It was blissful! 

We did the beach, the water park, the movies, went out to eat. The hubby can't complain it was a great fathers day weekend. Now to plan the rest of summer vacation. We only have 6 weeks left before school starts. Already! I know it goes fast and it might be our last summer here. Then on the next place.

I need some more ideas. Let me know your favorite places to go and see. It can be anywhere from north carolina to the florida keys. Any place within driving distance that we can cross off our little bucket list. 

Now it's time to go back to unplugging for the weekend. Next week is going to be crazy!

Fashion Friday

 Summer is coming to an end and I'm kind of happy. I never really realized that I'm the type of person that needs some kind of routine. Too much vacation is a little boring. I start to get antsy to do something more with my time. 

I'm excited for what's coming up in the fall! Instead of only recording two songs it has turned into an EP. I will be headed to LA in September to record the rest of the songs and then everything will be released in the fall. I'm so excited for it to finally come out! I couldn't be more happier!

Fashion Friday {Sentimental Value}

Several years ago my dad went on a mission trip to Bolivia I think. He came back and brought me this vest. He said "You're such a fashionista that I thought you could come up with something." At the time I thought yikes, that is hideous. How will I ever come up with something cute with this vest that looks like its from the 80's maybe even 90's era. And not the cute stuff! So it sat in my closet. It moved from state to state with me and I never wore it. I didn't want to get rid of it because it was a gift. 

My dad passed away a couple years ago and I really wanted to pull that vest out and try and come up with something. It took a minute but one day it finally came to me. Usually how some of my outfits come to me. Pairing certain colors or prints together. I visualize it in my head and then it becomes a reality. 

Voila! A once ugly vest is now turned into a stylish hipster outfit..

Fashion Friday {Girl Power}

 The last couple months have been at a standstill for me. I was on such a roll with writing music and making progress. Then everything stalled for a bit. I kno[w it's something to probably get used to. It did allow me to focus on being a mom and wife for a bit. Mostly "mom" because the hubby was gone for about six weeks and I had my hands full. But today finally I got back on track with my music. It's like slowing down in a race and everyone is passing you by. Soon enough that second wind kicks in and you're in it to win it! I can't wait to finish this project and see where the next chapter takes me. Hopefully somewhere!

Fashion Friday

 It's friday and I'm so happy! This week has been less stressful then last week. Do you ever pile way too many things on your plate. I think it's the fact that I'm impatient so I want to do everything all at once. It's such a bad habit. Yet I'm still sitting here determined to do it all. I'm literally multi-tasking my dreams at the moment. Focusing on this Model/Talent expo in June. I have two months left. Of course I'm pushing myself to do all of the categories. This girl ...right here has to have a song, an original song, a monologue, a two-person scene. As well as all the outfits for the modeling portion. I'm literally doing everything but the dancing. I like to dance but no way am I auditioning for something like that. Did I bite off more than I can chew? Part of my impatience is feeling like I'm running out of time. Have you ever felt that way? The older I get the further away I am from what I want to do. I feel like my chance is now so I have to take it. I am now officially rambling. Let's get back to the clothes...

I'm so excited about this skirt. I see so much potential with it. I love the color! I love the suede! I can wear it a million times over.

CopyCat Tuesday

 This weeks Copycat Tuesday is a little combination of Copycat and Fashion Friday. A couple outfits found on Pinterest that inspired todays outfit. I love the bold print and the color combination. Just a really fun look for a casual day. You can also dress it up with a blazer or a leather jacket for an edgier look. Maybe a hat floppy or fedora with some layering necklaces. It's very versatile!
