Eating your feelings

A phrase I've heard so much this year. "Eating my feelings" Such an insane year and we all feel it. We're all unsettled. It's in the air. There's always bad news around the corner and we are just hanging on for dear life.

I  miss the simple days of taking my notebook, pen and cd player (sometimes a cute artsy hat) to the backyard to write my feelings.

Now there's no time. All there is work on top of work and just enough energy to climb into bed maybe watch a show and then fall asleep. Only to dream about all the things you are stressed about and waking up with a soar jaw from all grinding your teeth all night.

These just could be thoughts of a mom who is "single momming" it right now.  You work, then come home to more work. Cleaning, special projects, kids homework, their projects. The monotonous nightly routine just to get up and do the whole thing again.

I understand why people LIVE for fridays.

Just a thought.

{New Years Goals}

 With New Years fastly approaching. Let’s talk about new year goals! I don’t like saying resolutions anymore. That feels more like this year I’m not going to do this or that. The term goals feel more motivating.

Are you the kind of person that sets your resolutions to stop doing something and then makes sure you do  the thing up until the last minute? Does that even work?

Are you the kind of person that makes too many resolutions and then gets overwhelmed or too busy to accomplish them?

Or are you the type of person that had their life together and is just slaying left and right?

No matter what kind of person you are this is your friendly reminder to get started on your list. The days are getting shorter and we are getting older and it’s time to start living your best life !

12 Days of Christmas Outfits: Day 2 Nutcracker

Today is a more casual comfortable outfit for Christmas
The sweater reminded me of candy land or the nutcracker and the four realms. Just big pastel colored lollipops and sweetness.
Super comfy and cozy perfect for lounging around Christmas Day or going out for a Christmas movie.

All the leaves are brown

 The chill is in the air and the pumpkins are coming out. It's finally October! Have you started having your pumpkin spice beverages yet? I say beverages because some of us don't drink coffee. By some of us I mean me. I don't drink coffee. I'm getting ready to order my favorite fall/winter drink. Some vanilla chai tea and I might just add some pumpkin spice to the order so I can join in on the fun.

My favorite thing about Fall is to watch the colors change. Nothing compares to a New England fall but this is still good. I got to go up to the mountains the other day and so many trees were bright yellow it was gorgeous. I wish it would last longer. But the snow has to come ... I guess..

What's your favorite thing about Fall?

On a side note: Little man is now wanting to get into photography so I let him take a few pictures of me.

Fashion Friday {Working Girl}

I am here reporting on this lovely Friday a little late in the day. I've had a very, very busy week. I'm just glad I made it through. We got the call on Monday afternoon that little man got into Preschool. So we rushed around to find him last minute supplies so he was ready to start on Tuesday. I finally had an answer to what my life was going to look like. Except I still had no idea what was coming my way. I was having my mixed emotions about the new normal and potentially being home alone with no kids. I however got thrown into a very crazy schedule.
I had been in talks with my friend who owns a boutique downtown. I honestly thought it wasn't going to work out because of my not so open schedule. The shifts would've worked but the travel time would not. Luckily she was willing to work with me. I immediately scheduled an interview just a mere three hours after I dropped both kids off at school. I had a little alone time and went shopping and then downtown.
Then this girl who has not worked an actual job in 10-11 years got hired on the spot. The rest of the week has been crazy. Training, learning how to multi-task again, car line. Now it's Friday and I'm ready to for the weekend break with my kids. I might stay in on the couch for a good long while. But we'll see skies the limit.

I'm really excited for some new things I got coming your way.
I'm going to have a focus on some home decor soon. So keep an eye on what's to come!

Fashion Friday {Festival Fashion 2}

Hello! I'm back again with another Coachella inspired outfit. I'm happy to report that leopard is back in again for spring/summer 2019. Which I'm so excited about because I love leopard and animal print.
So it's a win-win for me. What's been your favorite trend for the season if you have any?

I've been slaving away at my to-do list. I came to the conclusion that I don't know how people do it. When they have their hand in all these things. People like J.Lo for instance. How does she do it ? I'm brainstorming a lot of ideas and managing being a mom, and wife. I'll let you know when I got a handle on it. Not sure if I like being super busy yet. I will let you know on that too. I have been having a hard time focusing. I blame my impatience. I want everything done at once so I try to do it all at the same time. Maybe I should blame it on society telling me I can have it all. That I can handle it all. That's too much deep thinking for a beginning of a weekend.

I thought we would have a little fun this friday.
We are coming to the end of our fall tv lineup and I might be just now catching up on some shows but I wanted to share what I'm liking right now and what I'm ok with them cancelling.

1: The Fix
A 10 episode mini series on Fox that Marcia Clark co-wrote (OJ Simpson Trial)
While it's slightly intriguing it has a lot of OJ Simpson vibes and some not so good actors. If this was a regular show and not a mini series I would see it getting cancelled. But I will finish it through to see who killed who.

2: Proven Innocent:
About a woman who was wrongly convicted for killing her best friend (supposedly). Now out of prison after 10 years she is now a lawyer on her crusade to help those falsely imprisoned. While she goes up against the same DA who put her away as well as still trying to solve her friends murder. There's a lot of familiar faces so it's worth checking out for now.

3: 9-1-1
It's already on season 2 but the first season definitely gives you a lot of Final Destination vibes. A lot of crazy near death situations. You definitely fall for the characters as well. Definitely a good one.

4: A million little things
I wasn't sure about this one but there were some familiar actors in it and I just binged the first season. It definitely gives you the feels. It's ABC's version of This is us. We shall see how long it lasts. It's definitely a complicated emotional show.

5: The passage
At first I thought it was a new zombie show with ZACK MORRIS a.k.a Mark Paul Gosselaar which I was excited about. It turned out to not be zombies but vampires. It has a familiar vibe but I can't put my finger on it right now. He's great in the show just don't know if I want to do another vampire or zombie show to be honest.

6: Manifest
A lot of familiar faces again and I just like to see them working. You like them in a previous show and it gets cancelled or ends and you root for them. They pop up again and it just brings me joy to see them still working and hustling! Intriguing plot about a plane that goes missing for 5 years but to the passengers its only been a day. Each new episode is a new mystery that feeds into the bigger mystery of how can a plane full of people just disappear. It's got Fringe and some X-file vibes. Worth it but not sure how long they can keep it going.

7: Good Girls
Interesting concept but not original. Three normal ladies stumble into a life of crime and now every episode is how they get themselves out of it while keeping it a secret from their families. It's on season 2 now so we'll see how it goes.

I'm sure you are wondering how I am watching all these shows.
First I am a Tv Junkie that will never change about me.
Second It's on my list of things to do :)

Happy Friday!
