Fall is here...

 I know everyone gets excited for Fall. While living here in Colorado it just means the snow is just around the corner. The snow is not my favorite. I love the spring or beginning of the fall where it's not too hot just with a slight cool breeze. 

.....with that said. I do have some favorite fall things. I love pumpkin things. I also have an addiction to Target Dollar spot pumpkins. They always come out with different pumpkins and I have to get them. I don't know what it is. Maybe deep down in the depths of my childhood. It makes me think of Cinderella. I'm reaching here. 

Besides the pumpkins. I do love the colors and the warm drinks and the sweaters. 

Hot vanilla chai tea, cozy sweater on the back porch watching the leaves change. 

OK! You talked me into it. But I still don't like the snow. 

This is me preparing for FALL.

Old Soul

 Fall is in the air. It's starting to cool down here. The snow isn't too far behind. I see some leaves start to accumulate on the ground. I'm starting to miss a New England Fall a little bit. Nothing beats New England in the Fall. The rich colors within the trees. The apple picking, and all the apple and pumpkin recipes. I got my favorite Fall/Winter Drink mix in the mail. I'm seriously contemplating bringing all my Fall decorations out and going to town! 

I must restrain myself. I have one more week until the kids go back to school in person. Then I think I shall take my sweet time and enjoy the creativity, the alone time. I'm finding joy in the slowdown. The blissful contentment in taking time to create something. UNINTERRUPTED.

I'm a firm believer in having Mommy breaks. A few hours, a couple days to yourself to make sure you are rested, filled up again. I thrive on it. I'm looking forward to some of that soon. 

Also excited to see what I come up with during that time.

Falling or Flying {Remote Learning Update}

 

 

I had a moment. Literally just a moment to sneak in here and tell you how insane remote learning is. I'm basically going back to Kindergarten. I'm so thankful for the teachers and the schools for being so flexible, patient and understanding of how our kids are doing during this. We only are set to do it for the first month. I'm hoping and praying they do not extend it ..because... honestly. I'm dying! I'm not ashamed to say that this is the absolute worst. My kid is not the sit down and listen type. At least not in this setting. I literally have to sit next to him all day long to make sure he learns something from his teacher. 

Every day I'm just so thankful to survive the day. I know all the schools are doing things differently. How are you doing things? Are you in person learning? Strictly remote learning? How are you surviving?

On a side note when you are stuck at home doing remote learning you might as well be comfy and cute. These pants are by far my favorite. I have collected 3 different colors new and they are all perfect for fall. They are so versatile. Clearly, because you guys have seen them multiple times. Whats your favorite color to wear for fall?

Friday Feels

Well, we just got word over here that we are officially not going back to school for the rest of the year. There are a few things that I didn't do beforehand that I'm happy with my decision now. 

One: I'm glad I didn't sign little man up for preschool. I knew it was only going to be for a few months anyway and I didn't want to waste the money. We have already been homeschooling him since February. I'm thankful for that. 

Two: I'm glad I didn't sign up for a ton of extra curricular activities it would've been another waste of money. 

Three: I'm glad we moved when we did. I couldn't imagine having to do that now. Or not being able to say goodbye to our friends before leaving. I know for some military families that is the case and it's so hard. 

Home schooling hasn't been all that bad so far. I think it's a lot easier when someone else has put together the curriculum for little miss. Which makes me just a glorified study hall monitor. It takes me back to my home school/charter days. I'm not even sure how I made it through jr high and high school.

On a side note I am putting together a blog post of all the ways we are getting through this quarantine life. Here's to hoping it ends sooner rather than later. This is nuts!

Fashion Friday {Black Friday}

It's already the last blog post of November! I hope everyone had a great thanksgiving. I know some of you may be out shopping til you drop to get all those black friday deals. I am currently at Disneyworld for our little family vacation. I thought I would leave you with some outfit inspo while you are taking a coffee break in between stores. If not I hope you are at home all cozy doing your online black friday shopping. Because that's what I would be doing. I hate lines which is ironic since I am spending 4 days at Disneyworld! Oi! Pray for me! 

Fashion Friday {Heat Wave}

Summer is in full swing now and its hot. But I'm not going to talk about the weather right now. For some reason I have this need to tell you how it is for me over here.  I've been stuck inside because there's been a heat wave and no one wants to be outside. 

It's almost time for me to go to Texas. I'm headed back to the Model and Talent expo. It's been a couple of years now since I went and auditioned. I've been asked back to perform and I'm really excited. It's like going back to camp. I'm also kind of excited to not have to audition this time around. It's also a mini mommy vacation! 

I might be able to venture around. So tell me where your favorite places are in Texas. Besides In n Out because you know this California girl will be headed there first! 

Fashion Friday

As promised I was going to be writing more and blogging more. I got a lot of things in the works that I'm excited to share with you! A lot of DIY Projects, a home tour, travel and of course more fashion. It feels good to get my motivation back. I just got to get those creative juices flowing again. I thought that I got my amazing multi-tasking brain back after Caleb. He's four years old now and It's not quite there yet. 

What type of things do you want me to blog about? It's been over a year since I did a DIY post I believe. Even longer since I did a home tour. That's what is great about being a military spouse. Every new house we move into is a new clean slate for me to work on. As the years go by though I've become more indecisive. I might blame that on pinterest. There are way more options for inspiration now that it's overwhelming. 

Now I am focusing on the inexpensive things which is more achievable to me now. I'm sure it would be to you as well. I hope you continue to check back in with me on all that.

Fashion Friday {High Hopes}

As promised I am back with something to talk about. This blog started out as an outlet for my fashion creativity, DIY, home decor. Basically all about my life. It's a place where no rules apply. I can write about whatever I want and it's out there for the world to see. I've gone from simple fashion posts, travel posts, my musical journey. I've even written posts about being a cancer survivor, grief, infant loss etc. I'm all over the place but that's the case with any real friendship right? You take the heavy with the light. You have fun but then you are there to hold your friends hand. 

I bet you are guessing what kind of post you are going to get today?

This is a get to know me post actually. Just a simple post about life and dreams. I hope you can bear with me.

Have you always known what you wanted to do with your life? Did you find your passions at a young age? Did you stumble upon them as you went through life? 

I have had many passions and dreams. 

I was told that I once wanted to be a violinist. I'm not sure I remember that one very well. 

I feel like from birth though music was coursing through my veins. I was deeply affected by music. I even remember writing my first songs in Kindergarten. Cheesy little love songs because I was a boy crazy little girl. I will admit that! I even remember in elementary school going to the backyard and sitting in the sun with my little artistic hat on that I got from my great-grandma. I would write notebooks full of songs, poems, and stories. Deep down I always knew what I was destined to be. I feel like maybe I lacked the over the top encouragement that I desperately needed. But all in God's timing right? 

Then came fashion. I would sit with my colored pencils and design outfits. I played with the idea of going to design school. Honestly, I can't draw at all! Another thing I have no problem admitting. 

I was even called the fashion police by my parents. That eventually evolved into what you see today and I was able to make all my fashion dreams come true by being a fashion blogger. 

The moral of the story here is don't give up on your dreams and your passions. There will always be an outlet in some form for you to use them or fulfill them. We are living in an interesting and exciting time. You should always do something you are passionate about whether its a career or a hobby.
