Conversations with a five-year old

Daddy: Are you ok Riley?

Riley: Yeah! Because my mint is naked!

Daddy: Your mint is naked?

Riley: Yeah it's not wearing any clothes! {giggles}

Riley: This my favorite song!......What is it?

Mommy: ........Hotel California

Riley: Yeah! {smiles big}

Daddy: You're just curious right Riley?

Riley:.....and Bored!

Daddy to Mommy: That's what you get when you mix boredom and curiosity. You get a lot of questions.

Riley: {After being in trouble starts talking to her friend from the window in her room}
Izzy I need to see you so I know you're okay!

Riley: Mommy, you're so derble

Mommy: Derble?

Riley: Yeah der a ble.

Mommy: Oh I'm adorable?

Riley: Yeah!

Mommy: Thank you. You're adorable too.

Riley:  I can't watch anything inappropriate.

{CopyCat Tuesday} Casual look

I love the idea of this look.
Mixing your warm weather clothes with your cold weather clothes. I would've loved to have this entire outfit. But since I don't I needed to take my own spin on things and work with what I got!

 Here's what I came up with.

{Family Vacation} Part 2

Sorry that it has taken me so long to get this trip blogged. I finally had some time to get it done.
Our second day in Florida was all about Disneyworld! Knowing that Riley was only five and only interested in princesses. We made our plans to spend the whole time in the Magic Kingdom. One day still wasn't enough honestly. Last time I even went to Disneyland was about 9 years ago for grad night. That's a long time! {I feel old} I remembered they had the fast pass. Which is completely different now. You only get 3 or 4 rides or attractions for the entire day you can use it for. I wish it was for the whole park. Those lines are outrageous! Most of the time was spent in lines. I wish we could've done more. However, since Riley didn't know any better. She was in absolute bliss. She was so starstruck when she got to meet the princesses. Most importantly Ariel. She told me she was sooo nervous about meeting her. She's so sweet! I can't wait to tell her that when she's older.

Our two favorite things of the day

{1} At Belle's interactive reading. They chose people to act out parts. They chose Riley to be the Beast! She was so excited and gave her best RRROOOOAARRRR. I was so proud and impressed she wasn't nervous at all. She just went up there and did her thing in front of everyone! She even got to dance with Belle! So sweet!

{2} At the end of the night they do the lights show. I didn't realize what it actually was. Some guy told us about it when we were getting ice cream. It didn't sound that exciting. We got a good spot and waited for the show. They played scenes from all the movies on the CASTLE! I was picturing like a outdoor drive-in movie setting. But they formed the scenes to the castle it was so awesome! Oh and Tinkerbell flew above us too!

Conversations with a five-year old

 {While eating Ribs for Easter Dinner}
Riley: I wasn't meant for messy when I was born
Mommy: Trust me! You are most certainly meant for messy

Mommy: Can you be quiet I can't answer you and listen to to the GPS at the same time
Riley: Are your ears not working today?

Mommy: We need to get our nails done again!
Riley: For real!

Daddy: Ok family! Dinner's ready. I slaved over this dinner all day {he made pizza}
Riley: Don't sass me boy!

Happy Birthday Mama!

Today is a very special day! It's my moms birthday!
She may not know it but I get very emotional about my mom.
She's a very special person, a genuine person with a genuine heart.
A strong person with more strength than anyone I know.

Just a few memories that have always stuck with me with my mom.

It was June 2003 and we were on a camping trip. I always had pretty bad asthma. Well that trip I didn't have any medication with me and had an asthma attack. I had to control my breathing while I slept. Not easy to do but I have gotten used to it.
My mom sat there next to me ALL NIGHT praying for me. I don't think she even went to bed. Stayed there the whole time making sure I was ok.

When I was in the hospital with my first child. On complete bed rest. She took turns with Evan staying with me overnight. Helped wash my hair {and bathe me :/  because I mean I could not get out of bed for three weeks!} I watched day in and day out. Either my mom or Evan sleeping next to me in the most uncomfortable chair! Bringing in coffee for each other as they switched shifts.

All of these things might seem like a thing any mom would do.
My mom has a lot of health issues that keep her in constant pain, or extreme exhaustion.
But she always puts other first before herself. Always taking care of people in need with no consideration for her self. Always with a smile on her face!
Happy Birthday Mama!! Love you more than my luggage!

XOXO

{CopyCat Tuesday} Copycat Fashion

I felt like there wasn't enough fashion posts throughout the week. So I brought back some copycat fashion posts to have weekly. Let's face it we are constantly inspired by photos we see on Pinterest or other such places. {but mostly pinterest} We end up copying it or coming up with our own rendition. I love coming up with my own spin sometimes from these outfits. I saw this outfit awhile back and loved it. I love how soft and feminine it is. I love the dark green skirt. But I don't have a dark green skirt I had a mint green skirt. I just came up with my own idea with the items I already had.

What's your copycat outfit? I'd love to see it. Link up with me!

{Easter Recap}

We decided to have a quiet Easter this year. Just the three of us and it was so fun! Sometimes I get so caught up in what I should be cooking for easter. Rushing around getting Easter basket items, and stressing out over the overall holiday.
All that is is a distraction. The kids {hopefully} would be happy with a few small items or a few pieces of candy. Riley was more excited for the egg hunt than anything. Even though I bought "Frozen" for her. I was amazed by her lack of enthusiasm there. Maybe she's finally Frozen'd out!

We were off to church for an awesome sermon. Then we went to see heaven is for real. Which turned out to be awesome  movie. Death can be such a difficult subject for a lot of people. I feel like this movie is so important because of that reason! Then came home and cooked up some ribs and potatoe salad had our little egg hunt. Then we finished the day with another movie together and strawberry shortcake for dessert.

Hope everyone had a great Easter! He is risen!!
