Conversations with an 8 year old

It's the beginning of a new chapter. We have now reached a new age and the things that come out of her mouth are getting funnier and funnier.

{Talking about her day at school}
Riley: Steve won so we had to do medium and it was hard....it was my nightmare!
Mommy: Who's Steve? What are you talking about?
Riley: Minecraft

Mommy: Chocolate makes me happy!
Riley: Chocolate makes me crazy

{Hanging out with her uncle}

Uncle: Do you want to take the car over there or walk?
Riley: Walk! Walking is better than driving.

{Playing a new family game}

"Which school subject will be the most important in your life?"

Riley: Gym

"If there were no kids your age to play with would you rather hang out with the older or younger kids?"

Riley: Younger so I can be the boss.

"If you could go to the olympics in a sport which would you choose?"

Riley: Thumb wrestling

"What do children know more about than adults?"

Riley: Adverbs

Fashion Friday {Hippie chic}

It's Friday on the first week of the new year! How if everyone doing on the their new years resolutions? I definitely had a few this year. One of them was being more motivated. I'm definitely doing that a lot so far. Trying to consistently work out more through the week. Stay on top of my blogging. I'm pumped for 2017! How about you?

Is it just me who's noticed? Target has really upped their game lately. They've been putting out some really cute stuff. Not just for women but kids clothes too. Usually it's hard to find cute boy clothes but I've been finding a lot lately. I think I might need to do a little Mommy fashion post soon to show you all the new digs!

Have a great weekend!

Dream a little dream....

Hello! It's a new year! I feel like this is a fresh start. I'm super motivated to getting things accomplished this year. I took a really long break. While being pregnant, having a newborn, moving two times, and the sudden passing of my Dad I was in a fog to say the least. Now I've got my motivation back and I'm pushing forward. If you follow me on instagram you may have seen videos I've been posting. I started a project back in September. I got inspired by a few people to start "Project 365". I basically do something I love every single day for a year. I've seen it done in different ways. A photographer I learned about a few years ago moved out to the wilderness to get back to his love of nature photography. He would only allow himself to take one photo for the entire day. He would set out at dawn in search of that one inspiring moment. He wouldn't return til evening, get up and do it all over again for an entire year. It's an amazing idea that just ignites your passions again. We can all get caught up in the "busyness" of life. So caught up that we forget about our passions. Or we forget about why we are doing things we used to be so passionate about in the beginning. That's what Project 365 is all about! Push yourself, put yourself out there, take a chance, live your dreams!

That's what I did I'm posting a video of me singing {mostly covers, some original songs} everyday on instagram. Follow me @ashley.reed

I was also recently handpicked to attend a model and talent expo this summer. I started a Gofund me to help me get there. Click here if you want to support me Gofundme

Fashion Friday {Casual weekend}

I hope everyone had a great Christmas. Ours was very low key and relaxing. We just spent the day lounging around the house. Playing with the kids and their new toys. It's been a great Christmas break. Exploring southern Georgia.
I got these jeans from Pacsun. Right now they have their bogo sale on denim. I literally had no jeans since having Caleb. So I took full advantage and stocked up and I love them all. These are the jeggings. You can get them on the link below. How was your Christmas?

Nashville you stole my heart {Part 2}

Day 2 Continued: After eating at Merchants Restaurant we walked around a bit til we found ourselves at The Listening Room Cafe we didn't have tickets so we had to wait in line for awhile. When we finally got in the atmosphere was awesome. The show had already started so we missed a few moments. That night was Elise Hayes  and friends. It had a very intimate vibe throughout the whole place. I like those kinds of concerts. I fell in love with a few songs.

Day 3:  Finally time to do a tour. I got tickets for the Nashville Music Attraction Discount Pass
which we also used for the Johnny Cash museum. It was totally worth it. For less than a hundred dollars we got tickets to the Country music hall of fame, RCA studio B, Johnny Cash Museum, Ryman Auditorium, coupon book for the Opry mills mall, and a food voucher for the Hard Rock Cafe. We did get the optional add-on for the Ryman Auditorium to go backstage. I highly recommend this tour. It has more bang for your buck for sure!

We caught the free shuttle at the Country Music hall of fame to RCA studio B.
A lot of awesome stories at that place. My favorite was the story of how Dolly Parton wrote "I will always love you'. Click here to read about my special experience at RCA studio B

Elvis in his Army uniform. Recording while on leave.

 Our tour guide playing us songs recorded in the studio.

 Elvis's Piano a Steinway & Sons

 Standing on the "sweet spot" for all the recording artists.

Outside of the Country Music Hall of Fame and inspirational quotes

At Ryman Auditorium we weren't allowed to take pictures on the backstage portion of the tour. I just took a couple shots in the building. I love the old architecture and the natural light is so dreamy!

Since it was this girls birthday she talked me into riding bikes around the city. I know the saying something about how riding a bicycle is easy even if you haven't done it in awhile. Well, let's just say I was struggling. The bike was a little big and I'm short and some stranger even had to give me a push. But at least we have funny memories from it. I even accidentally left my lens cap in the bike. Prayed it might still be in the basket the next day and it was! Shows how there isn't much crime in Nashville right?

At first I thought there was a real Highway 65 from the show Nashville. But after I googled it it was just a filming location. Still pretty cool!

Our Last Day in Nashville. We had gotten 2-day hop on hop off tickets from Old town trolley tour
and it was the last day to use it. I've used a hop on hop off tour twice now and it really is worth it.  You have transportation all day long and it stops all over the city. We were able to get this last visit in before our flight home. We went to Marathon Motorworks which has a lot of fun little shops. Not to mention a cool Nashville sign. I was so happy we got to get a picture in front of one.

I really see myself living in Nashville one day. Since we are closer now I plan on visiting as much as possible so I can get an idea on where we want to plant some roots. To check out my other trip to Nashville click here and here. What's your favorite thing to do in Nashville?
