Women supporting women

 

I've been thinking a lot about the term "Women supporting women".  In my entire life I have only had a few friends who really embodied that term. Ones who will go above and beyond to show support for you, be your biggest cheerleader. Free of jealousy, comparison, and drama. Why is that so hard to find? Why is it a term so hard to grasp for women. I know there is the part where you don't feel good enough where you are at. Whether its professionally, physically, spiritually etc. There's always going to be that mentality tucked down deep down inside, that someone is better than you or that they have a life that you want. 

It's time to break free of that mindset and get to working on yourself. 

I think when we are fulfilled in our own lives, focused on doing what God has called us to do, then we can't even see what other people are doing. 

 

After a very difficult month. I realize even more now the importance of having your people. There's no time for us women to cause problems with each other. Not when we are dealing with our own day to day stuff, or dealing with real life issues. 

It goes back to the golden rule "Treat others how you want to be treated". Seems simple enough right?

I completely understand being pitted against one another. Maybe it starts in our youth. You have friends who ditch you because they like someone better. You get dumped for someone else in a relationship. It’s hard to get through those things. I wish it weren’t like this. I wish we could bypass all that time that it takes us to get to the place where we are confident in ourselves. So that we can know that we are worth so much. We are valuable. Maybe that’s the foundation of the issue? 

I’m so glad that I have a group of friends who support one another, encourage each other. It takes time to find the right people you can trust, that you feel safe with. Just know that they are out there. You just have to look for them.

{New Years Goals}

 With New Years fastly approaching. Let’s talk about new year goals! I don’t like saying resolutions anymore. That feels more like this year I’m not going to do this or that. The term goals feel more motivating.

Are you the kind of person that sets your resolutions to stop doing something and then makes sure you do  the thing up until the last minute? Does that even work?

Are you the kind of person that makes too many resolutions and then gets overwhelmed or too busy to accomplish them?

Or are you the type of person that had their life together and is just slaying left and right?

No matter what kind of person you are this is your friendly reminder to get started on your list. The days are getting shorter and we are getting older and it’s time to start living your best life !

 Another great look for the holidays is pairing a nice blouse with a pair of jeans like this. Sheer, lace, anything with a vintage detail. I loved the color of this top with little flecks of gold and the ruffle sleeve. Reminded me of presents under the tree.

 When I first bought this jumpsuit this is the outfit I envisioned. I've been waiting for over a year for this jacket! I finally snagged and I love it. Gorgeous color, velvet, and snazzy details. This if my favorite jumpsuit to wear all year long. It's so comfy and flattering. You can pair it with honestly anything for any holiday.

New Beginnings

 

 

 

Have you ever been at a crossroad of something new and exciting? Overwhelmed with all the swirling ideas in your head. There has been something possibly in the works for a long time for me. I've been playing around with some ideas. I'm thinking now might be the best time to do it. 

We are living in strange times right now. We are realizing now more than ever that life is too short to not go after your dreams. I like many of you got stuck in 2020. 

We had just moved to a new city, new state and within a month everything was shut down and we were stuck in a house being bored. We had nothing to do but dive into our hobbies maybe? I had all these plans and ideas. Finish all the books on my book list. I ended up reading a finishing two books and not getting through the third before returning it to the library. I wanted to get my DIY projects done. I got ONE done. I wanted to learn all the dances from the 90s and early 2000's music videos. SURPRISE again didn't get any of that done. I did write and record a few songs which was great!

In fact a lot of the time ended up being soul searching. Which I have already blogged about so I won't bore you with it again. I think 2020 was necessary for growth. Being self aware even if it's painful can be so beneficial. It's obviously just the beginning a lot of healing needs to happen. By the mental health journey is so great and so important. I feel the more you talk about things and bring them out into the open you can learn from it, change from it, embrace it, and move forward with your life. 

 

All of these great and sometimes hard things have now lead me this crossroads. The next chapter in my life, in our lives. What does the next five to ten years look like? We've been diving in deep to the planning. Soaking up all the financial advice from Dave Ramsey's network. Planning not only for us but our kids futures. Even more than we have before. Now that we have crossed those things off our list it's time to move onto the next. 

 

I don't want to give too much away because we are doing our research and going over the details and praying about it. We want to make sure this is a good next step for us.

I will leave you with this though. Don't let fear rule over you. There will always be some apprehension on any life decision. But if God is in it then you know you are on the right path.
