Livin La Vida Local: Pumpkin Patch La Salle, Colorado

Seeing how it's been a few days since the end of November and I’m slower than molasses
I wanted to post about our trip to the pumpkin patch! It seemed like the perfect time, with everyone getting ready for Christmas and all. We didn’t get to go last year. We got everyone packed up and on the road for the hour drive. Only to be greeted by a huge windstorm. Everyone was rushing to their cars, others were turning around to go home. Us being one of those people.
I’m glad we were able to go this year even though one kid wasn’t feeling up to it. We only had a few nice weather weekends left so we ran as fast as we could to take advantage. It was nice weather outside (maybe a little too hot.)

We went to the Fritzler farm park in La Salle, Colorado. There was a huge corn maze, tons of games, bouncy houses, and so much more included in our ticket.
Can’t say we did well in the maze. But we had kids with short attention spans.

The most important thing was the funnel cake anyway. That’s always a must !

And of course picking our pumpkins at the end!

A great family day !

Easter Recap

I hope everyone had an awesome Easter weekend.
We had a pretty laid back weekend ourselves.
One of the perks of living on a military base is that they always have community activities.
This Easter was a big carnival and a huge egg hunt. They should actually just call it an egg race instead. Those kids went crazy for a ton of bright colored plastic eggs just thrown across the grass field. We went on a couple rides and did games and some arts and crafts. It was a good time....minus the sunburn.

Easter Sunday I made some awesome breakfast quesadillas. Just eggs, mozarella cheese, and pesto.
I think we may be addicted to pesto these days. Church, egg hunt and then a very chill hike along kaena point. Which is an awesome but really long hike around the mountains in Hawaii. We didn't make it very far with two little munchkins in tow and the sun setting quickly. But we got a sneak peek. We will probably have to attempt it again before we leave.

Pumpkin Patch {Aloun Farms}

This is the time of year where we loved living in New England. The leaves changing colors, the apple picking, and everything pumpkin we could get our hands on. I definitely miss the cozy sweaters, hot chocolate and boots. Don't get me wrong its been fun living in constant warm weather. It's been a nice break from the massive amounts of snow we were subjected to for so many years. I was just so glad that they had pumpkin patches here! I guess I had this idea of Hawaii being another country.
It was really weird to be wearing sandals shorts for a pumpkin patch. Guess I have to get used this now. Caleb had so much fun at his first pumpkin patch too. He loved holding the little baby pumpkins!
