Fashion Friday {High Hopes}

As promised I am back with something to talk about. This blog started out as an outlet for my fashion creativity, DIY, home decor. Basically all about my life. It's a place where no rules apply. I can write about whatever I want and it's out there for the world to see. I've gone from simple fashion posts, travel posts, my musical journey. I've even written posts about being a cancer survivor, grief, infant loss etc. I'm all over the place but that's the case with any real friendship right? You take the heavy with the light. You have fun but then you are there to hold your friends hand.
I bet you are guessing what kind of post you are going to get today?
This is a get to know me post actually. Just a simple post about life and dreams. I hope you can bear with me.
Have you always known what you wanted to do with your life? Did you find your passions at a young age? Did you stumble upon them as you went through life?
I have had many passions and dreams.
I was told that I once wanted to be a violinist. I'm not sure I remember that one very well.
I feel like from birth though music was coursing through my veins. I was deeply affected by music. I even remember writing my first songs in Kindergarten. Cheesy little love songs because I was a boy crazy little girl. I will admit that! I even remember in elementary school going to the backyard and sitting in the sun with my little artistic hat on that I got from my great-grandma. I would write notebooks full of songs, poems, and stories. Deep down I always knew what I was destined to be. I feel like maybe I lacked the over the top encouragement that I desperately needed. But all in God's timing right?
Then came fashion. I would sit with my colored pencils and design outfits. I played with the idea of going to design school. Honestly, I can't draw at all! Another thing I have no problem admitting.
I was even called the fashion police by my parents. That eventually evolved into what you see today and I was able to make all my fashion dreams come true by being a fashion blogger.

The moral of the story here is don't give up on your dreams and your passions. There will always be an outlet in some form for you to use them or fulfill them. We are living in an interesting and exciting time. You should always do something you are passionate about whether its a career or a hobby.
I hope you find this inspiring!
Happy Friday

Fashion Friday

It's February! You know what that means? It's my birthday month! It's going to be a big one and I'm so excited. I've got my release/birthday party. I've got a getaway weekend with my husband. I have a military ball to go to where I get to dress up all fancy! It's going to be an amazing month!
I have friends and family coming in to celebrate my birthday and EP release. What are some things I have to take them to see while they are here. I always seem to miss things and I want them to get the best out of their trip.

Happy Friday everyone!

Fashion Friday {Oops I did it again}

A dress with jeans again? Yep! I did it again this is one of the best ways to transition some of your summer and spring dresses into fall and winter outfits. I simply tied my swing dress into a knot and voila! I love the contrast of the black and white with the camel color of the moto jacket. It makes for an easy on the go outfit. Perfect for you getting in some early holiday shopping. That's what I will be doing. I actually start in August. It's better than going broke at Christmas time. Also, on a side note Thanksgiving is next week already. There's also only 6 weeks left of 2018. I don't mean to stress you out or anything. Just keeping it real!
Happy Friday

Fashion Friday {Back to School}

I've had a crazy day of back to school shopping. I literally haven't sat down all day. Woke up bright and early with my little munchkin of an alarm clock. But it's the last few days of summer. I refuse to wake up early. I refuse to wake up before the sun. So I went back to sleep but that threw off the rest of the day of course. Back to school shopping turned into speed shopping. I'm just glad I had a small list from the teacher this year!
One of our favorite things to do before school is to get all the new clothes and then make outfits out of them and then do a fashion show. Since the day got away from us we are going to have to push that to tomorrow. But little miss definitely needed a date with her  mama today. I can't believe I'm going to have a 4th grader. I remember when I was in 4th grade! I got my first little boyfriend, I did cheerleading, I did the school talent show for the first time. I had short hair and bangs. 4th grade was a wild ride! We also didn't have dances we had skate parties in case you wanted to know.
What are some of your 4th grade memories ?

CopyCat Tuesday

I love a dress and a chunky cardigan sweater. It's so effortless and easy. You're just cozy all day long. I love the print of this dress. I got on clearance at Forever21 and I'm glad I did. The print is transitional through the seasons. See how I styled this dress before here.
What's your favorite transitional piece?

Fashion Friday

 Recently went to Brunch downtown and wore this outfit. It's perfect for that casual, effortless look. Loving the print and cut of the dress. It doesn't cling but lays very nicely. Forever21 is still having their sale on dresses right now. Definitely a good deal on their inexpensive dresses for spring and summer so go stock up!
