Conversations with an eight year old

Riley: I tried to wait for you mommy but my tummy said "eat, eat, eat"

Mommy: Mommy needs a break

Riley: She means she doesn't want to take care of the crazy children.

{Going shopping}

Mommy: Riley I need to use your gift card.

Riley: Toys R us is also available.

{Listening to her ipod before going to bed}

Riley: I put "All of me" on. That's a sleepy song.

{Watching an Aurora Teagarden movie}

Riley: Someone threw a body out of an airplane? How terrible. Must've hurt.

Mommy: Probably.

Riley: Mommy sometimes I can't believe this is real life.
Mommy: You watching too much tv?
Riley: Yeah.

{Riley finishing last few bites of dinner}
Mommy: Come on you can do it! I believe in you.

Riley: I believe I can. I believe I can fly.

Mommy: Ok R. Kelly.

Riley: Huh?

Conversations with a seven year old

I am sadly only a few weeks away from having an eight year old! Closing the chapter on this year and this age. It makes me sad that she's growing so fast and I can't keep up. I know each year comes new challenges yet new adventures. As a mommy you just want to stop time to soak in every second. I love being silly with this little girl. Our regular dance parties, silly voices, and her latest obsession snapchat videos. She's my mini me in every way while still being herself. I love her exactly that way!

Mommy: What did you say/?

Riley: I didn't say anything.

Mommy: Oh I thought you said something.

Riley: What did you think I said? Cause I said {whispers} nothing.....

Riley: What song is this?

Mommy: "You and I"

Riley: Who sings it?

Mommy: Lady Gaga

Riley: Who's Lady Gaga?

Mommy: She sings other songs you know.

Riley: Her first name is Lady?!

{Talking about the election with Daddy}

Mommy: I don't agree with voting for someone just so the other one won't win.

Riley: I'm not voting for anyone!

{Talking about Minecraft....but I had no clue}

Riley: Steve won so we had to do medium and it was hard. It was my nightmare! {Over dramatically}

CopyCat Tuesday {Mommy/Daughter}

I honestly matching my baby girl! She does too she was striking poses left and right. We might have a little model on our hands. She gets so excited when I tell her "Let's match today". Sometimes she even says it to me. She'll see what I'm wearing and come into my room wearing something similar. "I wanted to match you today". She's my little mini-me for sure. This is a perfect mother/daughter outfit. Very simple and fun. Did I mention this is one of her favorite skirts. She would wear it every day if she could.

CopyCat Tuesday {Mommy and Me}

My first post of the new year! I thought I would do a little twist on copycat Tuesday. Do a little mommy/daughter fashion. My little mini me loves to dress like me...{usually}. She also has a mind of her own. If we kind of match then she gets excited. I'm not so sure she would wear this outfit without me. She just is starting to have her own style now. We bought her outfit a year or so ago. Her top was from Target. A little peplum high low top, and the leggings more recently from walmart. She totally rocks it too! I'm sure this won't be the last mommy/daughter Fashion post! Happy New Year everyone!
