Riley: This is so easy

Mommy: I don't hear you answering.

Riley: I kept walking into his room with my eyes closed.

Mommy: At least you know you're path in the dark

Riley: I'm a cat in the dark ?

Mommy: No your path in the dark. Why would you be a cat in the dark?

Riley: Cause cats can see in the dark. I'm a cat in the dark and I can scratch good too!
{Scratches Mommy}

Mommy: Ow!

Riley: Mommy you smell good

Mommy: Thank you what do I smell like?

Riley: Goodness!

{After playdate}

Mommy: I just want to point out that you had two friends here with no problems.

Riley: That was God using his magic.

Riley: Mommy I believe in Santa now. We need an elf on the shelf so Santa can see me and know that I'm good.

{Easter Recap}

We decided to have a quiet Easter this year. Just the three of us and it was so fun! Sometimes I get so caught up in what I should be cooking for easter. Rushing around getting Easter basket items, and stressing out over the overall holiday.
All that is is a distraction. The kids {hopefully} would be happy with a few small items or a few pieces of candy. Riley was more excited for the egg hunt than anything. Even though I bought "Frozen" for her. I was amazed by her lack of enthusiasm there. Maybe she's finally Frozen'd out!

We were off to church for an awesome sermon. Then we went to see heaven is for real. Which turned out to be awesome  movie. Death can be such a difficult subject for a lot of people. I feel like this movie is so important because of that reason! Then came home and cooked up some ribs and potatoe salad had our little egg hunt. Then we finished the day with another movie together and strawberry shortcake for dessert.

Hope everyone had a great Easter! He is risen!!

Things I'm loving

I'm loving all the cute things at Target and Old Navy for Riley. I'm not a huge fan of characters on clothes. Honestly I love miniature versions of things I would wear for Riley. She loves them too. She loves to match or coordinate with me all the time. From cute floral rompers to pretty sundresses. And apparently a lot of blue this spring! Here area  few of her spring picks. This girls got some style!

Conversations with a Five-year old

Photo by Kristen Booth

I am constantly amazed at the interesting things that come out of this little girls mouth. She is one smart cookie!

Riley: I have a disk in my brain that writes down everything I eat.
Mommy: Really?
Riley: Yep!

Mommy: Do you how you get to heaven.
Riley: You die
Mommy: haha I mean before that. You believe in Jesus and accept him into your heart.
Riley: Right...then you die.
Mommy: haha Yes

Mommy: How much do you love me?
Riley: {opens arms big}
Mommy: That's a lot! Don't you love me more than that? I love you more than anything.
Riley: I love you more than grass!
Mommy: Grass hmmm?
Riley: More than houses, more than signs.
Mommy: I sure hope so!

Conversations with a five - year old

Another new post that I will be doing from time to time. {Conversations with a Five- Year old}

Photo by Kristen Booth

I think we can all agree that "kids say the darndest things". I've always known that. But now I get to live with my own mini comedian to make me laugh. Ask weird, sometimes interesting questions. It's amazing the things that come out of her mouth.

Riley: I know what Goldfish {crackers} are made of.
Mommy: What?
Riley: Cheese and crunchiness.
Mommy: You are absolutely right!
Riley: And spicy sprinkles to make it taste better. {a.k.a salt}

Riley: What are you doing Mommy?
Mommy: Fixing the lines on her belly {photoshopping Maternity Photos}
Riley: How did she get those?
Mommy: From the baby. When your skin stretches.
Riley: How do you get a baby?
Mommy: Uhhhhhhhhhh
Riley: Maybe, when I'm older?
Mommy: Yes! Hahaha

Mommy: You're an expensive date you know. {on our random starbucks date}
Riley: You're the one spending the money here.

After eating a ham steak for dinner.
Riley: {having a meltdown} I need to tell you something
Mommy: What's wrong?
Riley: I ate the fat. I don't want to turn into a pig!
Mommy: You're not going to turn into a pig honey. Where did you get that from?
Riley: What was it? Was it the cheek?
Mommy: No no no. Don't worry about it nothing is going to happen to you.

September, naturally

September has come up pretty fast. Was that not the quickest summer ever? Now we are back in school already. It is of course another of Pre-school except now this year we call it Pre-K. Whatever, she still loves school and is always excited to go. This time the hubs got to go with us! Riley had the same teacher and same room so it wasn't a big deal for her. But she's always been an independent little lady. Wonder where she got that from?

 Showing off her outfit for the first day of school !
