Fashion Friday {Thanksgiving and Black Friday}

I hope everyone had a fantastic Thanksgiving! We had a quiet one at home. I wanted it as stress free as possible. No guests meant no one to impress with a super clean house and a million homemade recipes. I took a cue from one of my friends and got some microwavable dishes that tasted just like homemade. Then got a small turkey breast that was just enough for us. Found an awesome recipe on Pinterest that is officially our new turkey recipe. It was that good! Then the boys fell asleep. Caleb barely got through dinner before he started to fall asleep. Then since we had nothing else to do. Riley really wanted to experience some Black Friday shopping. So we went over to Target right when the doors opened and the line was HUGE! I've worked at Target before for on Black Friday and I've done way later in the day. But I've never stood in line for a sale. It was crazy everyone running for all the deals. I was there for one deal and one deal only. I wanted Outlander season 2 on blu-ray. Yet, I still managed to snatch up some other stuff while we were there.
Now, today on the real Black Friday I find myself using all my self control to not buy more stuff. I've been staying away from the ads, emails, and sites. I've stayed at home so I won't be tempted to go into the stores. It's been soo hard! I wish you brave souls all the luck in the world while you go out on your Black Friday shopping!

"May the odds ever be in your favor".

Fashion Friday Ready for Fall

It's Friday but it feels like Tuesday. Coming back from California plus hurricane Irma completely has thrown me off and I have no idea what day it is. We were supposed to come home Sunday afternoon but ended up changing our flight from Savannah to Montgomery, AL. We figured we would just stay with family until it was safe to go home. We would be close enough that we could get on a plane or rent a car and drive back home. But if you were following the storms track you would've seen that Irma switched gears and was heading towards Alabama. We tried to see if we could just drive back from Atlanta which was where we connecting to Montgomery. They said You can but your bags are already going to Montgomery. "Well we didn't want to do that. So I thought we were still just going to head to his sisters house. But as soon as we rented a car the hubby decided we would drive home. Luckily, we didn't get stopped for driving after the curfew they had put in place. Thank God that the hurricane had turned into a tropical storm by the time we got home. We never lost power and we never had any flooding. We were blessed. Definitely reaffirmed that we are in the house that God wanted us to be.
With that said the husband had extra days off and Riley had days off of school. I was all out of whack. Everyone else's Thursday was my Monday. I'm still playing catch up.
I hope and pray for everyone else who weren't as lucky during this horrible weather. Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Fashion Friday

It's been such a long week. Between car issues, sick kids, working and taking care of the house. It's been nuts trying to keep up with everything. The beginning of the week was really exciting though. I finally signed a deal with a couple music producers that are going to take me to the next step in my music career. I'm just beyond excited to just be able to record my own music in a recording studio. My songs are like my babies they are an extension of me. I can't wait to share them with the all of you.

Hat: Shoppriceless, Top: Stylesforless, Shorts: H&M, Boots: Tjmaxx, Necklace: Wetseal

I've still got summer on the brain. I've been in constant vacation mode. But school starts back up again in a few weeks and I will have to get back to that routine. As I'm writing this I'm already ready for a nap. I gotta get out of this house! Does anyone else get like this. I'm also wishing I was in California at Comic-con.. I've never been but so many of my fave shows are doing panels there. Maybe one year I can cross it off my bucket list. Has anyone else been?

{Fashion Friday} Pinspiration

It has been such a crazy week, let me tell you! Absolutely crazy, and busy and I like it that way. That is the best way to get the time to go by fast. Fast indeed, we are finally at single digits now til the hubs comes home. We are so excited! I've been cleaning house, getting organized and working on my top secret Father's Day present for him. I did a family portrait session you can check that out here. I also finished one of the biggest projects that I gave myself at the beginning of the week. I've never felt so accomplished. I sat there and knocked it out! It was hard but I set a goal for myself and I did it. Then on Tuesday night I did my first open mic night. I've been sticking to this whole "Fearless Year" thing. It feels amazing to be finally doing the things I set out to do. To finally be accomplishing the things I've wanted to do for years. Words cannot describe, seriously....I just have no words.

I was inspired to do this outfit that I found on Pinterest.
I would still love to have this cardigan, I'm basically in love with it.
Sometimes you just have to work with what you already have.

{Fashion Friday} Recycled

Hey! It's Friday! We got 16 more days til the hubs gets home! AND I think Summer has finally hit! I've brought all the fans up from the basement. And of course it does absolutely nothing. I can handle the heat {most of the time} but this mugginess/humidity is so aggravating! It's only the beginning too! Hopefully this summer will be remedied with some A/C window units. They are very popular here on the east coast. Personally I think they are really ugly. But If we want to survive the summer they are a must!

Last year was really miserable. That's what happens when you are new to the east coast and have no idea what you are doing or what to expect. But I'm ready for you this time Summer!!

This outfit is a classic case of recycled trends. I bought this skirt like ten years ago, {maybe nine} I couldn't bear the thought of getting rid of it! So I kept it and it can totally work now. It's an asymmetrical, banded top skirt that I think I got at Sears back in the day. I'm a sucker for stripes, always have been. I love the bold black and white, I don't know why. It's like candy for my eyes! I paired it with this bold red tube top and neutral brown belt and boots.

What's some of your favorite recycled trends?

{Fashion Friday}....and I'm back!

We said goodbye to our first friend that we met today. She had graciously took most of my pictures for Fashion Friday. We are sad :( luckily we are from the same town so hopefully we will see each other again soon. The kids were sad too, and that always makes it more sad when you see the kids cry.
It's November now and time is going to be going by so fast with the holidays in a domino effect. Before you know it we will be here for a year already! It's time to make an East Coast Bucket list, before it's time to leave.

{1} New years in times square
{2} Ice skate in central park
{3}Consume all authentic Italian food I can get my hands on
{4} Bed and Breakfast in Vermont or Connecticut
{5}Historical sites in Mass, like Salem etc.
{6} Cruise or boat ride
{7} Broadway show
{8} Disneyworld, Universal studios
{9} Visit little towns with little shops
{10} .....hmmmm thinking. Any ideas???
