End of the year

I'm ending this year on a good note. I'm starting next year with new kind of changes. I'm going to make the steps I need to maintain a less stressful life. As we end our time here in this place and get ready to move on I want to move on in a good mindset.

I know I have talked about New Years resolutions being dumb in the past. Now I look at it like this:  Give yourself a few attainable goals and crush those goals. If you make larger lists you'll feel horrible like you can't get anything right. But If you make just 3 things you want to change in the new year. Something to better yourself, so that you can grow. There's always something new you can learn.

2022 you were good but we're going to do better!

Cheers to 2023!

Nothing is wasted

We are reaching the end of the year. I feel like I've pushed hard this year. Working, a new show, health issues, putting out new music. But that burn out is real. It's a vicious cycle. So with the remainder of 2022 I want to do just that. Rest, reset. I feel like I might say that all the time. But taking a moment to breathe and focus on family and the things that fill my soul. Work things out. There's always room to learn new things. There's always room to heal. I want to do that.

Fall behind

Let's talk about these plaid pants for a second. In high school I had a similar pair that were hand me down so they didn't exactly fit me well. I saw them at the store and thought it would be funny to just try them on. Turns out the joke was on me because they were cute and comfortable. So I thought hey why not recreate an old high school outfit but make it current. So here's my second attempt almost 20 years later. I wish I had a picture of that outfit somewhere. I'd have to go searching for it. It might only exist in my mind or maybe even in a yearbook.

I'm finally gathering my bearings here after an insane month of October. I literally had way too much on my plate. I cannot do that again. They did a whole series about it at church and I'm paying attention. It's hard for me to say no. The irony is I've always been the one to not like when people were too busy. Now I'm eating my words. I promise I'll be better! Honest! Are you having the same problem in your life? Maybe it's a consequence of post covid quarantine. We weren't able to do all this stuff now we are hitting the ground running. Maybe?

I need to prioritize all my responsibilities with all my new ideas and projects. I need to speak up when I'm running into the ground. But also know when to be quiet on some things. I am grateful for all the new opportunities. I feel like they are God's blessings and answers to prayer. But I'm one person.  No need to induce panic attacks on the regular.

I hope you are figuring out your busy schedules as well. Start this next week off on a better less busy note. Find some time to decompress and breathe.

Until next time folks!

Stronger than a 90's trend

You ever wonder when they will be done with this 90's trend. I don't hate it! It's make me very nostalgic. I watched "The Last Blockbuster" on Netflix. The "KID 90"  and "The Orange years: The Nickelodeon story" Documentaries on Hulu. It's fun to think about how simple things used to be. No Social Media, no pressure to be perfect all the time. We could go outside and play for hours without watching TV. We used our imagination. Going to a Blockbuster was a special thing. I loved spending time picking out all the fun movies. I think that's why I'm such a big TV/Movie junkie. I miss all the fun Nickelodeon shows as well.

What was your favorite thing from the 90's ?

Leopard Love

If you know me you know I love leopard. I even got the girls on the worship team at church to follow suit.
I love that it never goes out of style. I got this cute top on clearance along with these pants. I'm in love they are some of the most comfortable pants I have and they got pockets. I went back to the store just to get them in black.
Great and airy for summer and transitional to Fall.
Paired it with this distressed oversized denim jacket. A lot of neutrals and they always go so nice together.

Happy Hump Day !!
