{Spring cleaning} digital yard sale

I am pretty used to posting items online to sell mainly in military wives groups online or even going out to consignment stores to get rid of clothes or other things. I have recently been somewhat successful with using an app called poshmark to sell some items but now I want to try Instagram.
So I have opened up shop for all you readers interested in buying what you may have seen on the blog or what's been hidden in my closet because spring is a time for new beginnings
And I am ready to part with some things and let them go to a good home as I will be shopping for much needed spring and summer items. Don't worry not all will be sold I plan on donating as much as possible too.

Follow me on Instagram @shopmeadowsandreeds if you are interested in an item leave your paypal email in a comment for an invoice. First come first serve. Lots more to come!

{Kiss the Cook}

Another new weekly post I wanted to share. I am always trying new recipes out from the internet. Some are awesome, some not so much. Here are a few new recipes we have tried as of late and my reviews on them.

Baked Chicken Stuffed with pesto and cheese

Recipe from kalynskitchen.com

This one was mainly for the hubby. He loves pesto and so I thought why not. I didn't have the right crumbs for the coating so I just used Italian style bread crumbs instead. I wasn't a huge fan with the end result. But Evan loved it. Not sure I will make it again since we weren't raving about it.

Caprese stuffed turkey burgers

Recipe from brokeandbougie.blogspot.com

I recently searched for clean eating recipes on Pinterest and came across this recipe. I had a ton of ground turkey so I chose this one to try out.
It was pretty easy to make too. The only thing was cooking it a bit extra to make sure both sides of meat were cooked all the way through. I didn't have the right cheese either so I just substituted the cheese with whatever we had. It didn't really matter.

I also made this again for my parents and they loved it too. And I figured out that it taste good with ranch dressing to dip in.

What's your favorite recipe you think I should try?

Things I'm loving

Bare minerals makeup

I recently was out if makeup. Just foundation that is. It usually lasts me a few months or so. So I was waiting and waiting to go into the mall to get some new stuff. I wish they could deliver sometimes. Anyway, I also was in desperate need of new brushes. I take good care of mine somewhat but they were so bad they were scratching my face so I just needed new ones but that's not always in the budget.
The lady at bare minerals was so sweet and helpful. I said I needed foundation and casually mentioned the poor neglected condition of my other brushes. She said well you should get the new starter kit it's cheaper and they changed it. I've been using bare minerals for almost 10 years now. So the starter kit used to be foundation, a couple brushes, mineral veil, warmth that was always too orange. Now you can do a custom starter kit. Meaning the kit comes with primer a full coverage brush, and a little concealer brush and you get to pick your foundation, a foundation brush, concealer, blush or bronzer. All for super cheap. We all know bare minerals can break the piggy! I felt like I won the lottery! This stuff is soo nice. I highly recommend it!

I'm starting a new weekly post. All the things I'm loving throughout the week. Enjoy!

Veronica Mars movie

Ok so huge Veronica Mars fan! Like huge, huge fan!!!
I know sadly there were only three seasons and got cancelled way to early and I bet those tv execs and producers are kicking themselves about it now seeing the huge fan base it has and all that.
I like to describe it as a modern nancy drew with a lot of quick witted banter and the cutest Kristen bell as the lead. Solving mysteries in her spare time. Definitely a show/movie to watch for the Olsen twins fans who grew up watching those mystery videos. I know I did { and I still know the theme song}
The movie didn't disappoint! There were a ton of cameos and old faves coming back to their roles. There were a few things I wish were different. But it definitely left me wanting more. I just love the characters so much and wish I could watch them every week like the good ol days! And don't fret you newbie marshmallows. They do a recap of the show in the beginning so you aren't completely lost. Definitely a must see movie! But it's only on limited release to amc theatres but you can rent it on amazon or buy which is what I ended up doing.

Starbucks date with my baby

Sometimes you need to take a break from the hustle and spend some quality time with a cute little munchkin. That's what I did this week. Her latest is Mr. Peabody and Sherman. We saw it last weekend and the book store had all of one book and it was basically the whole movie. Until the next movie we see I'm sure she will keep obsessing over this one. Oh and I LOVEEEEE chocolate banana smoothies with whipped cream from Starbucks! Yum!

Karmin's new album

I love finding new music. I loved Karmin when I came across one of their you tube videos. I loved their music last summer and now a whole new album is out in time for summer. Its got a ton of upbeat music that I love. Definitely will be our "dance party in the living room" soundtrack this summer.

{Fashion Friday} Maxis and leather

Fashion Friday is here!

This is one of my favorite maxi dresses. It's so grecian, so ethereal. When I saw it in the store I had to get it. Not to mention that shade of red. Goodness gracious! I love it! Such a rich vibrant color, it's so romantic. I paired it with this crop leather jacket for an edgier look. Definitely one of my faves for all year round. It's very versatile!

Sara comes to New York

This is a day we had been waiting for. A trip we had been planning for years. More like dreaming I guess. It's hard to get away for a girls weekend. When so much life gets in the way. Jobs, moves, husbands, weddings, deployments, kids etc.

Thank goodness we now live only a few hours away. It made it easier to make this trip happen.
It's crazy that no matter how many times you come to New York. There's always something new to see and something new to do.

Even Sara got pulled into a street show. Which was hilarious! But cost us like $15. Can you say hustled??

This trip we went to the 9/11 Memorial, Trinity Church, Ice Cream at Dylan's Candy Bar {not pictured} Central Park, Times Square and we braved the New York Subway. We had used it once before but with family who had lead us around. This time we were all on our own and I wasn't as nervous or scared. We had practiced a few times in Boston using the T. I definitely feel more and more like a grown up every time I use it. It's so hard to do things in one day. Just because there is still so much to see. Central Park is huge and could possible spend a whole day there. Statue of Liberty, Coney island. So much more to do and we are running out of time before we move.

What are your favorite things to do in New York?

Sara comes to Boston

It has finally been proven.
If you nag your friends enough they finally come to visit you!
I would say it was worth it. I'm just sad the visit wasn't that long.

My friend finally came out to visit me and the little family. We definitely showed her a good time. She even got to experience different seasons in those few days. Since this weather is so bipolar! It was a jam packed weekend. But we had a blast! Braving through the crazy snow storm when she arrived. A little shopping and breakfast. Then I took her to The Orchard House. We love Little Women. Then went down to Boston where it was crazy windy and cold and we wandered around the city looking for some food. Luckily we found it! I think Sara was more excited to ride the train.
Stay tuned for part 2: Sara comes to New York!
